Algorithmic Muertos

The Day of the Dead, or Día de Muertos, is a festival celebrated in Mexican culture with roots in Aztec tradition. This celebration is used to honor the lives of deceased loved ones and offerings are made to their spirits. This collection focuses on the Day of the Dead and captures the colorful and energetic atmosphere of the festival.
This collection includes paintings, sculptures, and other works of art that bring together the most important elements of the Day of the Dead. These elements include the altars, or "ofrendas," that symbolize the time the deceased spend in the afterlife, the scents used by people to make offerings to the dead, and the symbols used to remember the deceased. This collection offers a glimpse into the world of those who celebrate and view the Day of the Dead as a transition. These works reflect the colorful and energetic festival that exists within Mexican culture, where death is accepted as a part of life.
